Hip Hop Documentary: Beyond Beats & Rhymes

I am a big fan of hip hop.. have been for most of my life... But so often I find myself defending it from what its become in the commercial scheme of things.  Watching this video was both informative and very reflective for me.  I suggest anyone out there should see it, its a great place to start.

Conceived as a “loving critique” from a self-proclaimed “hip-hop head,” Hurt examines issues of masculinity, sexism, violence and homophobia in today’s hip-hop culture.
